Case Worker (Youth Work)Supported Community Accommodation Services  Full Time | Part-time  The TAIHS Supported Community Accommodation (SCA) Service is looking for an experienced and qualified Case Worker (Youth Work) to join our team. The SCA Service provides a home-like environment for young service users, which includes structured and unstructured programs and activities.  All young people bailed to the SCA Service will be on the Conditional Bail Program, meaning that Youth Justice will be the lead caseworker for all young people at the SCA Service.  The target group for the Service is young males and females aged 14 - 17 years, who are at risk of remand due to unstable accommodation, who have been granted bail with the condition of residing at the SCA Service. At times there may also be young people aged 10 - 13 years bailed to the SCA Service. Responsibilities, include, but are not limited to: Participate in case planning and case management Liaise with the Senior Case Worker in relation to all client-related matters; including client needs, engagement, issues, observations or concerns Participate in the delivery of programs both structured and unstructured aimed at meeting the needs of the individual or group Provision of information, support and advocacy for clients accessing the service Develop productive working relationships with relevant agency staff,  Queensland Police Service, Youth Justice  Qualifications and Experience Qualification/s relevant to the field of case management and/or youth work or a related field of discipline, with at least appropriate Cert IV relevant to the work required to be performed; e.g. Certificate IV level in Community Services or equivalent Ability to demonstrate strong capabilities around building relationships with and motivating vulnerable people, assessing needs and advocating for the client Previous experience in a relevant industry, service or an equivalent level of expertise and experience to undertake the range of activities required with the willingness to undertake studies to gain the required minimum qualification Have an understanding of the historical, social, cultural and economic issues affecting the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and young people today Practical Requirements Work out of normal hours of duty  and travel across the region may be required Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)  Current Blue Card (working with children and young people) or willingness to apply for a  Blue Card Satisfactory Police Check - no Serious/Criminal/Court Record (if required)  Please email:  recruitment@taihs.net.au  for an application package ABORIGINAL & TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER APPLICANTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO APPLY Applications Close: 5 pm Monday, 14 October 2019Phone:  (07) 4431 1415 or 4431 1420 Applications lodged without the required documentation will not be deemed complete. 0 AUD Townsville
