About the role
The Manager Regulatory Compliance role will work closely with the first line of defence to ensure that the divisional needs are represented when developing or enhancing the existing frameworks and practices.
In the role you will accountable for the effective management of compliance frameworks for a division or a business unit in line with legislative and regulatory requirements.
Adopting a partnering approach to Compliance and Regulatory management, you will be responsible for:
- Directly advising the business on the effective identification and management of compliance and regulatory obligations
- Assessing and directing remediation of any compliance incidents
- Supporting the implementation of appropriate controls and systems in line with Group and Divisional risk frameworks
- Building and embedding compliance knowledge, capability and practices through the delivery of training and advice on implementation of requirements
About you
The Manager Regulatory Compliance will make business decisions guided by the policies and business plans of BOQ.
In order to be successful for this position you will need to have the following skills and qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in compliance or legal preferably within the Banking and Finance industry
- Demonstrated experience and application of compliance frameworks and systems
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities at any one time in a constantly changing environment
- Strong and proven stakeholder engagement with the ability to effectively partner with all levels of the organisation
- Commercially astute with effective influencing and negotiation skills and the proven ability to achieve outcomes
- Effective and impactful verbal and written communication skills with experience in report writing, papers and other relevant submissions
- Thorough understanding of regulators and other relevant governing bodies
- Tertiary qualifications in Law or related disciplines
- Strong ability to problem solve and influence decisions
