DO YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE IN OPERATING A SKIDSTEER LOADER?The Plant Operator will be required to undertake safe and efficient operation of a range of plant and trucks (generally a skidsteer loader) on road construction and maintenance works.Our successful candidate will have:Current Queensland driver's licence with a "HR" endorsement.Plant operators' Certificates of Competency for the types and classes of plant utilised in this position.Experience in the operation of a range of plant (road roller/skid steer/backhoe/mini excavator) to achieve construction tolerance for local authority works.Year 10 Certificate or proficient literacy and numeracy skills to a standard commensurate with the requirements of this position.Certificate associated with the successful completion of the Safe Working Near Live Exposed Parts training course.Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks to achieve set outcomes and ability to create effective working relationships to ensure team objectives are met.Knowledge and experience in the efficient and safe operation of heavy ridged vehicles and other item of plant; including servicing requirements and pre-start checks and basic mechanical knowledge associated with day to day maintenance of plant and trucks.Basic knowledge of construction and maintenance practices associated with the development and maintenance of municipal infrastructure.Knowledge of Aus-Spec, Australian Standards, Load Restraint Guide, Work Health and Safety legislative requirements, Quality Assurance procedures and all other relevant standards, guidelines and codes in the operation of heavy vehicles in a civil construction / local government environment.Closing date: Wednesday 21 August 2019To apply for this role, applicants must view the position information on the Townsville City Council website prior to lodging an application.
