The Role

The primary purpose of the Purchasing Officers role is to provide effective procurement services to the business, securing the right item, at the right price, in the right quantity, with the right quality at the right time.

  • This role is accountable for purchasing services, provision of quotations, supplier performance management; follow up of back orders, and timely customer communications.
  • Sourcing of quotations as per company supply chain policy
  • Provision of procurement for direct charge items, inventory items and services, ensuring business placement is best value delivered to the company
  • Follow up of outstanding purchase orders to ensure renegotiation for delivery of overdue items in a timely manner
  • Timely processing of invoice queries in support of company accounts payable processes
  • Generate accurate data of supplier performance to support the company supplier management program

  • Certificate in Purchasing or Logistics desirable
  • Knowledge of Pronto
  • Experience working in a similar role on a mine site or site-based environment
